Program

Day 1 – Arrival in Istanbul

Istanbul is one of the most populous cities on the European continent. You will immediately be immersed in a mix of cultures, between East and West.

Day 2 – 7 / Photography Days

Street photography workshop with photographer Didier Ruef. There will be moments when we will go around as a group combined with other more free moments to explore the city individually or in small groups. The photographer will still be available for those who do not want to go around independently.
Insights into Istanbul's neighborhoods:
1. Sultanahmet: This district is the historical heart of Istanbul, with iconic monuments such as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. The majestic architecture and ancient atmosphere offer many photographic opportunities.
2. Karaköy: This neighborhood is known for its artistic and creative scene. The cobblestone streets, colorful murals, and art galleries make it a great place for urban photography.
3. Beyoğlu (Taksim): This neighborhood is famous for its lively Istiklal Street, with its variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, and street artists. The busy streets and constant energy make it an inspiring place for street photography.
4. Fener and Balat: These neighborhoods offer a true experience of old Istanbul. The narrow streets, colorful houses and traces of everyday life offer numerous opportunities to portray the authentic life of the city.
5. Moda (Kadıköy): On the Asian side of Istanbul, Moda is a trendy neighborhood with a mix of cafes, shops and neighborhood life. The panoramic views of Istanbul's historic center from the waterfront make it a great spot for photography.
6. Eyüp: This neighborhood is religiously important and is home to the Eyüp Sultan Mosque. The traditional activities and spiritual atmosphere create an ideal environment for documentary photography.
7. Ortaköy: Located near the Bosphorus Bridge, Ortaköy is famous for its mosque overlooking the sea and the vibrant atmosphere of the handicraft market. The panoramic views of the bridge and the water add a special touch to the photograph.
8. Cihangir: This neighborhood is known for its bohemian atmosphere and picturesque streets. The cozy cafes and mix of architecture make Cihangir an attractive place for photography.
